It has been a long time since my last entry. This entry will come from the "Nestor" episode of Ulysses. Deasy is the stuffy old headmaster at the school in which Stephen teaches. They are talking about God. Stephen has already uttered his famous line, "History is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake." Sounds of boys playing in the playground are heard. Deasy says, "The ways of the Creator are not our ways. All human history moves to one great goal, the manifestation of God."
Stephen jerked his thumb towards the window, saying: "That is God." They hear, "Hooray! Ay! Whrrwhee!"
"What?" Deasy asked.
"A shout in the street," Stephen answered, shrungging his shoulders.
So there you have it, if you want to experience God listen for "A shout in the street."
